JazzLeeds presents Orphy Robinson with Fergus Quill and Matt Holmes
JazzLeeds presents the debut UK performance of a brand new trio made up UK Jazz Icon Orphy Robinson alongside Fergus Quill and Matt Holmes, two rising stars of the UK jazz scene. This is the only date announced so far for this line up come and witness the first performance of this exciting new trio.
Orphy Robinson is a British jazz multi-instrumentalist who plays vibraphone, keyboards, saxophone, trumpet, piano, and drums. He has written music for television, film and theatre. He is one of the few UK musicians to have been signed to the legendary USA Jazz label “Blue Note”. (pics c Joseph Okpago)
Leeds bassist Fergus Quill (bass) won of The Musicians’ Company Tina May Jazz Award 2022, a member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and is currently one of the "Take Five" group of young musicians supported by Serious. He runs the Imaginary Big Band and Fergus Quill trio, who have both appeared recently at JazzLeeds.
